[EN] I'm ready to share my first nail art of this year with you! It's already almost the end of January, and I've had my nails painted only twice this month. I'm not feeling sad about this, of course, 'cause I went on a cool snowboarding trip to a very picturesque Russian resort. But the other side of this joy is the following: it was so cold there that my nails have started peeling and cracking. Now, I've filed them away and hope they'll grow healthy and strong, however, I'm pretty satisfied with their current shape and length as well.

[RU] Я наконец готова поделиться с вами своим первым нейл-артом в этом году! Сейчас уже почти конец января, а мои ногти были накрашены только дважды за этот месяц. Но я не то, что бы жалею об этом, конечно, потому что я съездила в классную сноубордическую поездку на один живописный российский курорт. Но обратной стороной этого кайфа было вот что: там был такой мороз, что мои ногти стали слоиться и ломаться. Сейчас я их спилила и надеюсь, что они вырастут здоровыми и крепкими, хотя вообще нынешняя форма и длина меня тоже совершенно устраивают.

My Christmas-y nails

[EN] I really love this Christmas color combination of red and green. But the problem is that it's usually associated with one football club rather than something like Christmas tree decorated in red :( I made this nail art as a protest, and I also added white. As the green polish has a lot of blue tone, the combination looks more neutral than it would if the green were grass-green. 
[RU] Мне очень нравится это рождественское цветовое сочетание красного и зеленого. Но проблема в том, что оно обычно ассоциируется с одним футбольным клубом, нежели с елкой, наряженной в красное :( Я сделала этот нейл-арт в качестве протеста, и еще добавила в него белый. Поскольку в зеленом лаке очень много синего оттенка, сочетание смотрится спокойнее, чем если бы это был травяной цвет.

[EN] Let's get it started. My music nails week begins with something fresh and, I think, nice. In my opinion this nail art is a bit retro and childish. I googled 'lemon wallpaper' for inspiration; I mean not wallpaper for home screen, but the one on real paper. It seems to me such wallpaper could have been found in an American house in the 50s, what do you think?

[RU] Поехали. Моя ногтемузыкальныя неделя начинается с кое-чего свеженького и, я думаю, милого. На мой взгляд, этот нейл-арт выглядит немного детским и в стиле ретро. Я погуглила "lemon wallpaper" для вдохновения; в смысле не обои для рабочего стола, а настоящие - на бумаге. Мне кажется, такие обои могли быть в американском доме в 50-е, как думаете?

[EN] I painted these flowers on my nails in October while the weather in Moscow was so sunny and beautiful that I could feel the summer was still there. Now, when I look at the pictures I'm really inspired by this mani, which I was wearing for quite a long time.

Leaves don't leave my nails

[EN] I made this neutral and delicate nail art as the start of participation in Tara's (from The Beauty of Nail Polish) Instagram challenge. The first topic was leaves and I had this girly pink polish on my nails. I found the purple polish to match the pink one and didn't think long about what I wanted to paint. The design came into my head itself. I like it that it's not too bright and suits most of the clothes.

[RU] Я создала этот нейтральный и изящный дизайн для начала участия в октябрьском марафоне Тары (из The Beauty of Nail Polish) в инстаграме. Первой темой были листья, а у меня на ногтях был этот по-девчачьи розовый лак. Я нашла подходящий к нему фиолетовый лак и не слишком долго думала, что хочу нарисовать. Рисунок сам пришел в голову. Мне нравится, что он не очень яркий и почти ко всему подходит.

Exploring the sea

[EN] I've created a little nail art devoted to the sea. I love the sea and I've already posted something in marine style (http://mynailpolishnights.blogspot.ru/2014/06/test-drive-2-red-sails.html and http://mynailpolishnights.blogspot.ru/2014/06/sea-goddess.html) but this new one isn't an allusion - it's how I see the sea.

[RU] В этот раз я опробовала необычный темный нюд Dress me up от China Glaze. Если бы я была еще менее загорелой, я бы сказала, что это коричневый или темно-бежевый цвет, но мне нравится считать его темным натуральным. 

Консистенция лака мне очень понравилась - я предпочитаю довольно жидкие лаки, как этот, потому что их мне легче наносить. Неизменно удобная кисть особенно хорошо работает с именно такой степенью текучести лака. 

Финиш лака глянцевый, лак сохнет вполне быстро, но успевает выровняться, не пузырится, отлично держится.

[EN] This time I've tried out dark nude nail polish Dress me up by China Glaze. If my skin were even less suntanned than it is, I'd probably call this shade brown or dark-beige, but I like thinking of it as of a natural one.

The formula's my favourite as I prefer quite liquid polish 'cause its application is more comfortable for me. I think the constantly handy brush works best with this particular formula.

The polish is long-lasting, has its own glossy finish, dries fast enough but evens out well, doesn't bubble.
